Palestinian parliamentary delegation visits South Africa

A Palestinian delegation from the Change and Reform Parliamentary Bloc in the Palestinian Legislative Council (PLC) arrived at South Africa on Wednesday at the invitation of the African National Congress.

The delegation is led by Mahmoud al-Zahhar and includes MPs Nabil Abu-Ras, Mohamed Faraj al-Ghul, and Musheer al-Masri.

The Palestinian parliamentarians were received by the secretary of the international relations and cooperation in the Parliament of South Africa, and they intend to hold meetings with the president of the African National Congress, and officials from African political parties, NGOs, and other institutions.

The visit aims at mobilizing international support for the Palestinian people, highlighting the dire humanitarian conditions the Palestinians are enduring under occupation and siege, and briefing the South African officials on the latest developments in the Palestinian arena.

Last week, the parliamentary delegation started an international tour to enhance ties with different countries around the world.
